When the Bell & Ross BR 05 collection was introduced in 2019, it marked a significant milestone for the brand since the debut of their iconic BR 01 timepiece. While previous collections had focused on military and aviation themes, the BR 05 was a luxurious sports watch with an urban flair. The collection has since seen several iterations, including a chronograph, a GMT, and more experimental styles. One recurring theme has been the skeleton watch, and the latest addition to the collection features a new colorway with a steel case and a golden dial.
Apart from its new color, the Bell & Ross BR 05 Skeleton Golden is identical to previous models. It features a square-shaped stainless steel case with rounded corners that measures 40mm in diameter by 10.33mm thick. The watch has a pair of sapphire crystals fitted to both its bezel and caseback, providing a clear view of the internal skeletonized movement. The watch is also water-resistant up to 100 meters, thanks to the signed winding crown that screws down and angular crown guards attached to the middle case.
The defining element of this particular model is the color of the transparent dial. The surface of the dial is a transparent golden orange color, surrounded by a galvanized golden chapter ring with applied baton-shaped hour markers. The hour and minute hands, along with all of the hour markers, are coated with Grade X1 White 10 Super-LumiNova, providing clear visibility in low light conditions. The golden colorway creates a warmer overall appearance, setting it apart from other skeletonized models.
The Bell & Ross BR 05 Skeleton Golden is powered by the same BR-CAL.322 automatic movement found in other models. The skeletonized caliber is based on the Sellita SW300-1, offering a frequency of 28,800vph (4 Hz) and a power reserve of approximately 38 hours. The open-worked design of the watch is further enhanced by its custom skeletonized Bell & Ross oscillating weight.
The watch is available with either the signature tapered H-link bracelet or an integrated style of rubber strap, both with a folding clasp. The rubber strap is crafted from brown rubber to complement the warm golden tones of the dial, while the steel bracelet features brushed and polished surfaces.
The Bell & Ross BR 05 Skeleton Golden is a limited edition of 500 pieces and is available for pre-order, with deliveries expected in March 2023. The watch is priced at EUR 6,900 on rubber strap and EUR 7,400 on steel bracelet. Visit bellross.com for more details.
