Ulysse Nardin’s latest masterpiece is turning heads in the world of luxury watches. The Ulysse Nardin Blast Tourbillon Blue & Gold, launched just recently, is a stunning watch that combines a rose gold and blue color profile with the brand’s signature skeletonized design.
The Blast Tourbillon collection has always been known for its exquisite open-worked design that exposes every mechanical detail of the watch. But this latest iteration takes things to a whole new level. The two-tone rose gold and blue PVD titanium case is unlike anything we’ve seen before. It’s an angular masterpiece inspired by the lines of a stealth aircraft.
The sand-blasted titanium central section of the case complements the blue PVD finish perfectly. Meanwhile, the upper section is crafted from 5N rose gold. A blue PVD titanium bezel sits on top of the case, and the entire watch measures 45mm in diameter by 13mm-thick. Water resistance is rated at 50 meters, which is sufficient to protect against daily moisture contact.
The Ulysse Nardin Blast Tourbillon Blue & Gold is powered by the brand’s Caliber UN-172 automatic flying tourbillon movement. The movement runs at a rate of 18,000vph (2.5 Hz) with a power reserve of approximately 72 hours. The rose gold colored balance wheel and blue X-shaped tourbillon cage further enhance the watch’s color profile.
The watch doesn’t really have a dial in the traditional sense of the word. Instead, the outer chapter ring, rectangular and X-shaped structures running through the center of the dial all play into its blue and rose gold color profile. The Ulysse Nardin name and logo extend from the top section of the rectangular center structure, with the movement’s blue-finished platinum micro-rotor displayed directly above it.
