Rolex has once again impressed watch enthusiasts at Watches and Wonders 2023, launching two new GMT-Master II variants that incorporate one of our favorite materials – gold. Introducing the Rolesor (bi-color) 126713GRNR and the full yellow gold 126718GRNR models.
The Rolesor 126713GRNR – A Neo-Vintage Collectible
The new two-tone GMT-Master II 126713GRNR, referred to as “Rolesor” by the brand, is the only current steel and gold offering on Rolex’s Jubilee bracelet. This combination of materials positions it as a neo-vintage piece that is likely to entice collectors, even in today’s more subdued Rolex market. As soon as images of the new Cerachrom bezel variant hit social media, fans quickly dubbed it the “Guinness,” adding to the lineup of beverage-themed GMT nicknames like “Pepsi,” “Coke,” and “Root Beer.”
This 40mm stainless steel GMT model now comes with the exceptionally comfortable Rolesor Jubilee bracelet. The bezel features Cerachrom with 18K yellow gold knurling, and a striking two-tone ceramic in black and gray. The black dial showcases gold details, including the hands, index surrounds, and model name font at 6:00. The bracelet highlights a gold stripe running through the center. Both new models are powered by the reliable caliber 3285 chronometer automatic with a 70-hour power reserve, and water resistance remains at 100 meters. The Rolesor 126713GRNR is priced at €16,150.
Rolex GMT-Master II 126718GRNR – The 18K Yellow Gold Luxury
The second GMT-Master II release, the full gold 1267718GRNR, is an exquisite timepiece that exudes luxury. This watch mirrors the new Rolesor model but is crafted entirely from 18K yellow gold. It also features the new two-tone black and gray Cerachrom bezel, as well as gold details on the dial and hands. The full gold model is priced at CHF 37,100, reflecting its lavish design.
Final Thoughts
While Rolex enthusiasts continue to yearn for a stainless steel black and red “Coke” model and the rumored right-handed “Sprite” proved to be false, these new gold-infused GMT-Master II 2023 models offer a more luxurious take on a classic. The Jubilee bracelet adds both comfort and style, making it a welcome addition to the GMT-Master II line.
With Rolex‘s enduring global demand and the GMT-Master II’s status as a flagship model, the introduction of more gold into the lineup is a fascinating development. The two-tone Rolesor model, in particular, signifies a lasting appeal for this trend. As a horological tastemaker for decades, Rolex’s decision to incorporate yellow gold into the GMT-Master II lineup ensures the recent “gold revival” is here to stay for the foreseeable future. The new GMT-Master II variants are priced at CHF 15,700 and CHF 37,100, respectively, for the two-tone and full gold models. Discover more at Rolex’s website.
